Our services are directed to children, parents, carers and teachers with the goal to take preventative action, but at the same time to discover cases of sexual abuse that have been hidden or neglected.
The Child Protection Policy of St. Bernadette’s has three stages which are presented in the following way:
First stage: Raising public awareness of the subject and reflecting on the same, while recognizing that we all have responsibilities to counteract this reality.
Second stage: Inform the public about the causes, consequences, forms of prevention, and how to broach cases of sexual abuse.
Third Stage: To form Child Protection Teams with the abilities to intervene in cases, while acting within adequate protocols which respect legal and ethical boundaries.
We offer spaces for reflection through talks, workshops, campaigns, drama, parents associations and public awareness meetings. We use a participative methodology and are available to support groups and institutions with prior coordination.
