The Children’s Centre is a space where each child can live their childhood freely, while choosing what they prefer to do, surrounded by laughter, games and the support necessary to protect their rights. At the top of the hill, it is easy to hear the melodies of their instruments, the joyful singing and the quick steps of those who hurry to enter, where a warm welcome always awaits them.
Here, the children are the protagonists. They find a haven where they can explore, learn and dream with confidence. They feel listened to, valued and free to be who they are, in a safe and loving environment. The Children’s Centre is not just a place; it is the beginning of a path towards a future full of possibilities.
To create a welcoming and safe space where children and adolescents can fully enjoy their childhood and adolescence, valued as people with rights. Our desire is that each child and adolescent can discover and develop their potential through play, study, art and other experiences that foster their personal growth.
We promote a warm and familial environment, where they can socialize, practice values and social skills that strengthen their self-esteem, spiritual growth and their sense of citizenship. We want each child and adolescent to feel supported on their way to a future full of opportunities.
We have a work team made up of psychologists, speech therapists, social workers, teachers, animators and volunteers, who constantly accompany all the activities that are carried out on a daily basis.
Each year, we begin our activities with a week-long training workshop, which covers key topics such as the rights of children and adolescents, child safeguarding, the characteristics of human development, group management techniques, project planning, development and evaluation, as well as teamwork. Throughout the year, we organize two additional training days, with the collaboration of specialized professionals, and a final evaluation day.
An area designed with the safety, development and fun of young children aged between 3 and 5 years old in mind. This cozy and protected space offers a perfect environment for children to explore and play at their own pace, while developing motor, cognitive and social skills in each activity.
We provide children and adolescents with a safe and free environment for recreation, designed to inspire, entertain and foster their personal development. Our play areas promote creativity, discovery and social skills through activities that go beyond fun: we cultivate essential values and reinforce the practice of their freedom with responsibility.
This is an inclusive and welcoming space, with a large collection of books, designed to promote learning in children and adolescents. In addition, we offer access to computers with Internet to facilitate research and the development of school projects.
We offer computer training to develop the creativity of children and teenagers, promoting their approach to modern technology. This workshop provides an accessible space where each participant can learn and explore the digital world, opening doors to new opportunities for growth.
This space is designed for children to develop their creativity and manual skills through the use of various materials, including recycled materials. Through collaborative projects, participants learn to work as a team, fostering values such as cooperation and respect.
These workshops are an open door to artistic expression, where each child and adolescent can explore and develop their skills through movement, body expression and rhythm. In this space, participants connect with their creativity, strengthen their confidence and learn the importance of collaboration and mutual support.
It is a space where the teenagers can build a healthy and active lifestyle, strengthening their self-esteem and discovering what they are capable of achieving with discipline, promoting an environment of coexistence, support and motivation among themselves.
The psychology service is responsible for detecting and treating emotional, behavioral and learning problems in children and adolescents. In addition, it offers support to parents through consultations, guidance and personal counseling, in order to strengthen family well-being and the integral development of children.
The speech therapy is aimed at children with difficulties in their expressive and comprehensive language, and the evaluation, intervention and recovery of their difficulties is carried out to improve their oral expression and functional language.
This is an office to promote the defense of children´s rights established by law, while coordinating with the relative governmental institutions. We also provide counseling in cases of family violence, abandonment, sexual abuse, etc. and whenever necessary the social worker visits the families to provide guidance to existing problems. When the rights of vulnerable people are violated, we have the authority to inform the competent public institutions. We coordinate with the National Identity Registry (RENIEC) to register and provide national identity documents to children who do not have them, thus promoting the right to an identity, and allowing the children to exercise other rights such as access to health, education, etc.
Given that many of the children and teenagers live in high-risk situations, and some within dysfunction homes which neglect many of the children´s needs, we offer parent workshops with a dynamic and participatory methodology, to encourage them in their commitment to the education and care of their children.
To learn to live in freedom with responsibility supposes having an experience of participation, of listening and being listened to. Because of this we have assemblies where our children and adolescents can offer their opinions and make decisions about the workshops and activities of the Centre, to propose norms and to evaluate them, that is, to learn to be citizens from their own experience.
We carry out activities in public spaces; campaigns, fairs and festivals through which we sensitize the population on issues of children’s rights, child protection, while also displaying the work of the work of the children from the different programs of the institution.
